What makes it plug and play
Our Honda K20 Race/Kit car ITB Kit brings the manifold straight out of the cylinder head for a completely unrestricted entry, and that geometry asks for modifications to the front belt pulley, water pump and alternator. For a race car being built up anyway, that is a fair trade.
Plenty of engines are not candidates for it: a road car, a class that requires a standard engine, or simply an engine you would rather not take the front off. This kit is routed to clear the standard front end instead. It goes onto an otherwise standard K20 without changing the top pulley, so the engine keeps its original belt drive and ancillaries and the kit fits as it comes.
Everything else is the kit you already know — the same carbon composite construction, the same throttle quadrant, the same O-ring head sealing and the same airbox and filter.
Fits
The manifold suits every K20 cylinder head — PRB, PRC, RBC, RSP, whichever casting you have, UK or JDM — with the engine in its original transverse position or turned round for rear-wheel drive. Civic Type R EP3, Integra Type R DC5, Civic Type R FN2 and the rest.
The only thing to check against your engine is the coolant outlet, which is covered below.
Water outlet adaptor
Optional, and chosen by how the engine sits in the car, so the coolant outlet suits the installation rather than fighting it:
- K20 FWD water housing — the original transverse position
- K20 RWD water housing — engine turned round for rear-wheel drive
Neither is needed if your existing outlet already clears the kit. Tell us the installation and we will say which, if either, you want.
Unlike the manifold, the adaptor is not universal. It is cut for these cylinder heads:
- K20A
- K20A2
- K20A3
- K20Z1
- K24A1
If your engine is outside that list the kit still fits — it is only the coolant outlet that needs checking, so ask us before you add the adaptor.
Why our ITB kits lead the way
Optimised geometry, perfect fit. No porting required — choose the throttle body size and the intake port geometry. We will even make it to suit a ported head: send a traced port outline and we match it, which saves hours of port matching.
Optimum angle. Set to copy the intake port angle of the K20 head, for a clean airflow transition.
A throttle smooth as butter. Our throttle quadrant gives smooth, precise progression compared with conventional tie-rod and ball-joint arrangements — simpler, more reliable, and less to go wrong.
O-ring head sealing. O-rings seal the manifold to the cylinder head and are maintenance free, with much less chance of a sealing failure than a gasket.
Motorsport grade filtration. A replaceable twin-layer, fully reticulated, polymer-impregnated foam filter for dust filtration and airflow, which also filters the idle and vacuum manifold. One of our own air intake sensors comes preinstalled on the airbox.
Hollow carbon composite construction. Unlike aluminium, our manifolds, airboxes and velocity stacks are naturally insulating, which keeps intake air cooler, reduces heat soak and makes power more consistent.
Ultra-lightweight. A considerable saving over aluminium, which sharpens throttle response and takes mass off the car.
